The technical analysis of the NZDUSD price chart on 4-hour timeframe shows NZDUSD,H4 is retracing down toward the 200-period moving average MA(200) after hitting four-month high yesterday. We believe the bearish movement will continue after the price breaches below the lower bound of Donchian channel at 0.6138. A level below this can be used as an entry point for placing a pending order to sell. The stop loss can be placed above 0.6221. After placing the order, the stop loss is to be moved to the next fractal high indicator, following Parabolic signals. Thus, we are changing the expected profit/loss ratio to the breakeven point. If the price meets the stop loss level without reaching the order, we recommend cancelling the order: the market has undergone internal changes which were not taken into account.

New Zealand terms of trade fell less than expected. Will the NZDUSD price retreat reverse?
New Zealand terms of trade fell less than expected: the Statistics New Zealand reported the merchandise (goods) terms of trade in New Zealand fell by 0.6% quarter over quarter in the three months to September 2023 while the market forecast a 1.9% drop. At the same time the terms of trade was downwardly revised to 0.3% rise for the second quarter. Export prices fell 1.4% in the third quarter, following a 0.6% drop in the previous quarter. Meanwhile, import prices went down 0.8% after a 1% drop in the prior period. Smaller than expected decline in New Zealand terms of trade is bullish for New Zealand dollar and hence the NZDUSD currency pair. However the current setup is bearish for the pair.
